Coolest innovation this month: Flat pack mannequins

OK, so definitely the coolest innovation we've seen so far this month, by a long way.

Flat pack mannequins!

How often do we walk in to a warehouse and see mannequins laying around everywhere like a Baftas after party?! Taking up space, costing a fortune to ship and generally getting in the way when they are not being used. Well not any more, thanks to the Zipp-up Mannequino.

Made from flat plastic sheets, the pieces easily connect together to form the chosen shape. Sit them on shelves, hang them and even stick a light inside them! Then when you're done, take it apart again and store it in your pedestal!

And at around £75 for a full bust, not bad economics either.

Truly amazing piece of design and Ikea-style thinking! Top job guys.

ps. Word on the street is that they are developing a full body mannequin too!

Can they do it again?

So the guys who original created Howies are back with a brand new adventure - Hiut Jeans Co. These are guys who know how to create a brand from little more than love and determination. So can they do it again?

Howies become the uniform for all those in the know who love the outdoors and getting muddy. From mountain bikers, BMXers, skaters and surfer alike, Howies clothing was well designed, rugged and cool. Having been bought out by Timberland and now a VC deal, who knows where the brand will end up. I can't blame the guys for selling out but the brand did change, and it was clear to see.

So now, at their own confessions, they are learning from their lessons and starting all over again, in their very own unique way.

Hiut Denim is born out of a town that loves denim. Its history is in denim. A now, once again it is making denim.

In our eyes they have started well. A great brand story showing openness and a clear vision. The website is full of social stuff that is so David and Clare. The shopping process is very user-friendly and it even works on mobile. Simple, easy to use and pleasing on the eye.

So will they do it again? Time will tell, but I hope so.

Good luck guys.
